Pollination

For pollination of plantings from the Colorado potato beetle, or as dusting is also said, you can use one of the following means:

  • sifted ash - it is known that the Colorado potato beetle is most afraid of birch ash, but any other will also show good efficiency. One hectare will need to spend about 10 kg of ash. The procedure is carried out twice a month with an interval of two weeks before flowering and once a month after flowering. Ash, scattered also between the rows, will significantly increase the processing efficiency;
  • corn flour - small particles of corn after ingestion of the beetle in the stomach will begin to swell, which is why it is guaranteed to die;
  • sawdust - the Colorado potato beetle is sensitive to the aroma of fresh wood, so if you sprinkle soil between the beds with sawdust of pine or birch, the pest will bypass this place. The process is carried out with the same regularity as in the case of ash.

Recommendation! It is advisable to carry out the pollination procedure after rain or in the early morning when there are still dew drops on the plants. Thus, the product will stick to the leaves and will be able to fully fulfill its purpose!
