The "Regent" from the Colorado potato beetle is a modern systemic contact-intestinal pesticide that can help in the fight against insect pests. Regent against potato pests

Drug characteristics

"Regent" is a highly effective insecticide that helps to destroy the Colorado potato beetle as quickly as possible. Fipronil acts as its active substance, which represents a relatively new class of chemicals - phenylpyrazoles.

"Regent" very successfully copes with pests that have already developed resistance to insecticides from other groups, for example, to organophosphorus, as well as to pyrethroids and neonicotinoids. A feature of this drug is its reliable operation at elevated temperatures, up to + 40 ° C. Even on a hot sunny day, the active substances will successfully fight against the parasite, and at all stages of its development - from the larva to the adult.
In addition, the use of "Regent" allows you to reduce the number of treatments - as practice shows, instead of two or three mandatory sprayings with insecticides from other groups, just one treatment with the "Regent" is enough. Plus, it acts quickly enough, and the pest is guaranteed to die 24 hours after the penetration of the poisonous substance into its body.

"Regent" is characterized by a prolonged action and will work for about 2-3 weeks after treatment; during this period, it will help to destroy both adult beetles and larvae hatching from eggs. Thus, thanks to spraying alone, fruit and vegetable crops will be under reliable protection at all stages of growth and maturation, up to harvesting.

Recommendation! In order for the Regent drug to show its maximum effectiveness, it must be used strictly according to the instructions!

Insecticide features

To combat the Colorado potato beetle, the Regent product is available in liquid form and in powder form. Both in the first and in the second case it is a concentrate, from which later you will need to prepare a working solution. The concentrate is sold in plastic bags and ampoules. Their contents are a light transparent liquid or powder, which during use do not emit extraneous odors.

The current insecticide of the drug "Regent" can be in the body of the Colorado potato beetle in two ways:

  • intestinal - in this case, the drug will achieve its goal, provided that it is eaten; beetles will simply eat the treated parts of plants and will soon die;
  • contact - the product appears on the body of the insect during processing or the bug hooks it on its paws, walking along the sprayed foliage.

Working at the cellular level, the Regent preparation acts directly on the nervous system of the parasite. With the help of this poisonous substance in the body of an insect, receptors for gamma-aminobutyric acid are blocked and the process of the passage of nerve impulses is disrupted.As a result, the insecticide paralyzes the beetle, gradually reduces its vital activity, and after about 12-24 hours death occurs.

Important! "Regent" is a difficult compatible agent, and therefore it is not recommended to mix it with any other drugs!

Toxicity

The current insecticide belongs to hazard class III, and therefore, during the preparation of the working solution, and when processing plants, it is necessary to use personal protective equipment: gloves, glasses and a mask or a respirator. At the same time, it is desirable that the clothing also be protective - with long sleeves and full pants.

When spraying the beds, make sure that no children or pets are near you. And do not neglect your own safety - no matter how hot it is, you should not take off the means to protect the respiratory tract, mucous eyes and skin.

Terms of use

So, for processing plants, a working solution is used, which is preliminarily prepared from a liquid concentrate / powder and water. Therefore, first of all, you should prepare a container in which you will perform manipulations with an insecticide, as well as a spray bottle for spraying crops.

The sequence of actions is as follows:

  • gently open the ampoule or open the plastic bag and pour the contents into the prepared container;
  • add water according to the indicators in the table that is on the package;
  • mix everything well;
  • pour the finished working solution into a container with a sprayer and go directly to the processing of the site.

On a note! If we talk about the use of powdered insecticide, then it is also diluted with water according to the instructions on the packaging, after which potato beds are sprayed with a ready-made solution.

For spraying plants, only freshly prepared solution should be used. It is not subject to storage. Therefore, it is important to immediately calculate the amount of funds needed to process the entire site.

Processing should be carried out in dry, calm weather - preferably before 10 a.m. or after six in the evening. And pay attention to the weather forecast - the poison should be on the leaves and stems no later than 4-6 hours before the rain.

The aboveground parts of plants are sprinkled with a uniform layer, trying not to miss even the smallest sections, not a single bush. In this case, it is desirable that the poison fall on both the upper and lower parts of the leaves, as well as on the stems. When processing potatoes from the Colorado potato beetle, make sure that the solution does not appear on the plants that are nearby.

After treatment, do not forget to wash your hands thoroughly. The clothes in which you sprayed should be soaked for several hours and after being mulled in hot water. All used containers should be thoroughly washed, and the remains of the poison destroyed (burned) outside the site.

When using the Regent drug from a Colorado potato beetle, remember that processing must be done no later than 28 days before harvest. If this rule is neglected, then poisoning is quite possible, which will manifest itself in the form of nausea, vomiting, headache, dizziness and general weakness.

In general, gardeners respond to the Regent drug in a positive way and highlight such qualities as:

  • high efficiency regardless of the size of the parasite population;
  • profitability - one ampoule with a capacity of 5 ml is enough for processing 1 hundred parts;
  • not phytotoxic;
  • has an acceptable cost;
  • convenient to use.

And in order to keep your crop intact and not harm your health, it is enough to follow the simplest rules and recommendations specified in the instructions.
